The Aldrich’s summer poetry series, All of the Sky: Five Poets, Five Saturdays, begins this Saturday, July 23. The program is a live in-person event featuring readings by several contemporary female poets and is tied with with their current exhibition, 52 Artsits: A Feminist Milestone.
This Saturday’s talk features Mahogany L. Browne, and runs from 4 to 5 pm.
An acclaimed performance artist and activist, Mahogany L. Browne is the Executive Director of JustMedia, a media literacy initiative with a focus on the criminal legal system. Vinyl Moon, Chlorine Sky, Woke: A Young Poets Call to Justice, Woke Baby, Black Girl Magic, and I Remember Death By Its Proximity to What I Love are among her books for readers of all ages. Browne is also the founder of Woke Baby Book Fair, a traveling diverse reading campaign.
