We are breathtaking. Literally.
Two figures elegantly encased in bubble wrap and nearly strangled by clear tubing will harvest oxygen from the artwork, public and the general atmosphere. They glide about in a trance-like and at times frenetic state seeking sources of clean air. Using only recycled and repurposed materials, the work is about the world we inhabit materially and metaphysically. The conversation between art and environment takes place as we witness exponential damage caused in our lifetime.
A pre-recorded soundtrack will accompany the action.
HIBISCUS TV aims to defy innate patriarchal perceptions of women over sixty and how that can then allow space for a new dialogue about how to approach challenges to the environment.
