50 Years Of Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art Celebrated with Past Presidents’ and Current Members’ Exhibits
Los Angeles, CA, April 13, 2026
The Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art continues celebration of its 50th anniversary year, 2026, this May 6-31st, with two downtown LA exhibitions–Honoring Our Presidents, showing the vibrant work of more than 15 SCWCA leaders who helped forge new ground in women’s rights, equity, and artistic leadership, and What Comes Next, probing SCWCA’s art future with current members’ energetic offerings. The opening reception is Saturday, May 9 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Los Angeles Makery, with a closing artist talk and potluck reception on Sunday, May 31, at 12 pm.
The Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art is a networking organization for women in the visual arts. Its mission is to create community through art, education and social activism. For the past 50 years, SCWCA has brought together artists, art historians, curators and critics from Santa Barbara to San Diego. As the local chapter of the national Women’s Caucus for Art, SCWCA continues to offer exhibitions, workshops, publications and other vital opportunities for connection.
