“bright happy pretty shiny things” features Philo Northrup’s “Color Story” series. These mixed-media assemblages (glass, ceramic, plastic, wood, etc . . .) sparkle with subversive glee. Northrup is well known for his ArtCars, and will be exhibiting his latest vehicle, “PhilCo” as well.
His work has shown at the San Jose Museum of Art, California Museum of Art, USC Fisher Museum of Art, Nevada Museum of Art, Museum of New Mexico, Burning Man Art Festival, the Venice ArtWalk and the LACE Annualé. Northrup received grant awards from Art Matters and the National Endowment for the Arts.
