
Please join Yxta Maya Murray, Kathleen Kim, and Carolina Caycedo for field works: an interview, a slur, a dam. In this event hosted by the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive (LACA), three artists will present works that emerge from their community engagements. Writer and law professor Yxta Maya Murray will read from her forthcoming book of short stories, The World Doesn’t Work That Way, but It Could, violinist and human rights lawyer Kathleen Kim will perform a new piece on the meaning of “slurs,” and interdisciplinary artist Carolina Caycedo will discuss her Serpent River Book with Yxta. field works is curated by Andrew Freire and Yxta Maya Murray.
