
Some of Latin America’s most renowned artists such as Wildred Lam and Rufino Tamayowill be in Christie’s upcoming Latin American art sales! Christie’s will be holding an online sale from July 21st to August 4th and a live auction on July 30th filled with a selection of artwork from Latin American artists from the 17th century to Contemporary art. The collection is available for viewing on Christie’s.com now through August 4th.
The leading works from the collection are estimated to be sold between $2-$3 million. The two leading works are Femme Cheval, a work by famed Cuban artist, Wifredo Lam, and Dos Amantes Contemplando La Luna, a work by Mexican painter Rufino Tamayo. Along with these works, other highlights come from well known artists including, Carmen Herrera, who is known for her geometric works, Fernando Botero, a Colombian artist that is recognized for his volumetric stylization, Alfredo Ramos Martinez, a Mexican artist known for his stylized depictions of farmers and floral still lifes, and female surrealist artist, Leonora Carrington.
