Several months into the Covid-19 quarantine and shelter-in-place mandates, Los Angeles-based fine art photographer and photojournalist Osceola Refetoff published a journal entry on the topic, “Is Virtual Art the Future We Want?.”Refetoff’s text inspired the upcoming Zoom-based online event “Experiencing Art: Under Lockdown & Beyond,” to be presented by the Venice Institute of Contemporary Art (ViCA) on Thursday, June 11 at 1PM (PST).
Artist and ViCA founder Juri Koll will moderate the“Experiencing Art: Under Lockdown & Beyond” meeting and panel discussion, which is scheduled to take place during ViCA’s 7th Annual Fine Arts Film Festival, the world’s largest international art film festival (June 8-14). In addition to Refetoff, the panel includes: Tarrah Von Lintel, longtime gallerist and owner of Von Lintel Gallery in downtown Los Angeles; and Claudia James Bartlett, owner and director of Photo L.A., which will present its first-ever virtual photographic art fair, “Virtual Collect + Connect” (June 27-28).
