Join Iain Stewart in this multi-day workshop as he shares his techniques and approaches for painting the world around us. Through carefully designed exercises, Iain will guide students in depicting a variety of scenes including urban settings, rural landscapes, dramatic atmosphere, and water in its various forms. With the belief that starting with a final painting in mind can be limiting, Iain will help you explore the potential of your palette with no goals other than experimentation. In this class you will learn:

How to keep a sketchbook and use it to your advantage

How to look at the world though an ‘artists eye’

Exercises to loosen up and foster artistic growth

Repeatable exercises for continued exploration

Each class session will build on the instruction of the previous day until ultimately you leave with a vocabulary that allows you to express your unique voice and create paintings that speak to your audience.
