Feb 17
10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Rossi & Rossi
21 Georgian House, 10 Bury Street , London London SW1Y 6AA

This is the first solo London exhibition for Iran born, Tehran based, multi-disciplinary artist Amin Roshan (b. 1982).
His output is deeply informed by his Bahktiari tribal heritage and his family’s involvement for many years in the country’s oil industry. Roshan was born close to the drilling of the Middle East’s first oil well, and his formative years were shaped by the physical presence of oil and and around the streets and countryside close to his home. He is trained in graphic design.
Roshan’s works draw on archive materials – maps, plans, photographs – with oil sourced from home, and tea, the much loved Iranian beverage used extensively. The role played by the British alongside the Iranians in the establishment of the oil industry is the central theme at the heart of his compositions.

The exhibition is open now and runs until 27 March 2020.
