Enjoy an immersive experience with YR Media, an exhibiting partner in Suzanne Lacy: We Are Here. Formed as Youth Radio in the East Bay in 1992—around the same time The Oakland Projects began—YR Media is a media production training program that aims to address youth representation in the media by providing young people with the skills and platform to express themselves and an audience to hear them.
As part of our monthly Free Third Thursdays, enjoy specialty cocktails, YR Media DJs Clay Xavier and Stoney Creation spinning in the lobby, and complimentary admission to Suzanne Lacy: We Are Here, which celebrates the rich legacy of youth work in the Bay Area.
This month’s Artist to Artist conversation features YR Media artists Money Maka and Rami KD speaking about their practices, where they draw inspiration, and how they got started. The evening concludes with a vocal performance by Stoney Creation.
