On Dec 15, DEPART Foundation will open two new exhibitions to the public: a new group exhibition titled “The Weather in Malibu” curated by Keegan Gibbs, a Malibu-based artist who lost his long time family home to the fires, featuring photographic and sculptural works by eight artists: Nate Bressler, Jake Burghart, Keegan Gibbs, Lyon Herron, Jack Platner, Riley Smoller, Robert Spangle, and Layne Stratton. The solo exhibition “Marie, Is That You?” by Keegan Gibbs about the defining moments in every surfer’s life will open simultaneously.
DEPART Foundation Malibu’s collaborates with The Boys & Girls Club of Malibu (BGCM) providing the organization with gallery space to use temporarily for the Malibu Emergency Relief Fund Grants program headquarters, where victims of the Woolsey fire can apply in person for emergency aid.
