PROJECT: LOVE REVOLUTION Local artist seeks to start a movement through his mural painting in DTLA
LOS ANGELES — Dec. 7 2018 — Downtown LA residents have an eye-catching new addition to their city’s street art scene: a mural by LA-based artist Zach Touchon, who joins the ranks of such great LA street artists as WRDSMTH, Retna, Shepard Fairy and Dirt Cobain in creating impact and appreciation through local street art.
“Love Revolution” — a 130 foot X 25 foot mural that combines geometric shapes and contrasting colors to create visual depth on a two-dimensional surface — is located in a parking lot on Main St. between Olympic Blvd. and 11th Street, near Touchon & Co. Gallery. Completion date is slated for December 8, with a free public inauguration party to follow at Touchon & Co. Gallery the following week. Details below.
“We have to tear down the walls between us, and love each other,” said Touchon. “Everything is connected, so everything affects everything. Beauty is found in balance. Artists have a responsibility to provide hope and perspective in troubling times.”
Touchon’s goal is to expose people to fine art who normally wouldn’t be exposed to it, and with this size of his new mural – it will be hard to ignore.
Touchon added: “Don’t lose faith; peace can grow.” To stay up to date, follow @zachtouchon on all platforms and visit www.zachtouchon.com for additional artist info and to view his portfolio. Event details: Touchon & Co. Gallery. 1100 S. Main St. 8pm. Free and open to public (12/13)
