To paint. To let the brush flow and create something, something that speaks to us, something that has the force of a hammer and the gentleness of a summer breeze. That and no other is the language of the artists. a silent language and yet so loud in color and boldness. It doesn’t really matter what it depicts or what doesn’t;¿ how can it matter when the most important aspect is the emotion it carries? Paula Blanco doesn’t waste any time choosing subjects to convey what she feels, to pour her heart in a blank canvas. She work is waterfall-like, it flows, it moves relentlessly til it covers every inch of your soul. It’s powerful though filled with kindness, generous even if born our of a fierce individualism, the one that says this is my voice, this is me. To stare at one her canvases is to be conquered by her language, by her vitality an her own soul. Her work cannot be diminished as to do so would be our own inability to understand that language very often is louder when spoken in silence.
