As part of the LAMAGLearn series, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery presents a stimulating conversation on the world of gallery representation moderated by Jonathan T.D. Neil, exhibition artists Andrew Norman Wilson, Lena Daly, and Château Shatto Director/Founder Olivia Barrett. Whether you’re entering the art world as a self-taught artist or an MFA graduate, the road to finding representation can be perplexing. It’s no longer appropriate to stride into a gallery wielding your portfolio, expecting to be discovered—so how do you land on the radar of the galleries you already admire and respect? Free and open to all, this compelling program coincides with Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery’s Juried Exhibition 2018, a large-scale group exhibition introducing a new generation of LA artists, which is on display through September 16 at famed Barnsdall Art Park (4800 Hollywood Boulevard). Awarded biannually by the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA), the pioneering Juried exhibitions have been running for six decades and this year’s show builds on its legacy, providing a platform for emerging artists in SoCal since 1953 to exhibit at one of the country’s few remaining municipal art galleries. Please note seating is on a first come, first served basis. For most information, visit www.lamag.org
