ARTCRIB 18 is about the accessibility of art and the shape shifting ways it slips into lives outside the formal white cube. Come see Iva Gueorguieva’s mixed media drawings pinned to a fence, Scott Froschauer’s street signs scarecrowing a garden, Dakota Noot’s porky portraits skewered in a pineapple palm. Storage sheds become armatures for dripped and draped color by Chelsea Boxwell. Gendered toy marketing is altered by Kristine Schomaker. Young Tseng Wong tilts perceptions in cantilevered form that cast shadows on a stony slope. And chalked on a cinderblock wall, Lara Salmon describes her sensibilities for placing herself on fire during an obscure performance in LA just weeks ago. There is much more. Blink and you could miss details within the rocks, around the corner or at your feet. Take the Claremont exit off the train or park in the open air Metrolink lot on the east corner of First Street and College Avenue. Then, follow the sidewalk chalkings.
