Lucy Lippard is a writer, art critic, activist and curator. She was among the first writers to recognize “dematerialization” in conceptual art and was an early champion of feminist art. She is the author of 21 books on contemporary art and has received numerous awards and distinctions including a Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award for Writing on Art from the College Art Association, a National Endowment for the Arts grant and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
