Organized by USC Roski School of Art and Design and KORO Public Art Norway, Culture in Action: Conversations in Social Practice in Art is a lecture series that offers the Los Angeles public access to some of the most exciting artists, curators, and critics in the eld of social practice art today.
Grant Kester is a professor of art history at the UC San Diego and founding editor of FIELD: A Journal of Socially Engaged Art Criticism ( eld-journal.com). His publications include Con- versation Pieces: Community and Communication in Modern Art, The One and the Many: Contemporary Collaborative Art in a Global Context and Collective Situations: Dialogues in Contemporary Latin American Art 1995-2010, an anthology of writings by art collectives working in Latin America, in collaboation with Bill Kelley Jr.
