On the occasion of ‘Mike Kelley: Kandors 1999 – 2011’, Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles in collaboration with the Mike Kelley Foundation for the Arts is screening Kelley’s groundbreaking feature-length film ‘Day is Done’ (2005/2006) in the gallery’s courtyard. This conceptual musical features dancing Goths, singing vampires, hick story-tellers, malevolent barbers, and the Virgin Mary, among many other characters engaging in hilarious and disturbing scenes that explore American popular rituals.
