The Marengo Gallery will be hosting a talk in conjunction with the upcoming exhibit, Urbanization and the Rise of the Modern City (June 17 – July 29, 2017).
The talk will be given by Dr. Meiqin Wang on June 24th at 2pm. Wang is a professor of Asian Art at CSUN who specializes in Modern and Contemporary Chinese Art. Her most recent book “Urbanization and Contemporary Chinese Art” was published in 2015 and focuses on how the development of contemporary art from China has been affected by urbanization. She will give a brief introduction to contemporary Chinese art and then discuss the rise of urbanization in China and its effects on contemporary artists in China.
