This Halloween, a poco art summons small gods, an exhibition of strange apparitions, unruly desires, mischievous divinities, and creatures that refuse to remain in one form.
The Diamond Sutra whispers: 凡所有相,皆是虛妄.
All forms are illusory.
Drawing from Buddhist philosophy, spiritual traditions, queer fantasy, diasporic mythologies, and memento mori (remember that you must die), small gods invites visitors to reconsider the boundaries between the sacred and the profane, the living and the dead, the familiar and the monstrous.
Bodies become landscapes. Objects acquire spirits. Toys become idols; saints flirt with demons. Food becomes flesh, and flesh takes on stranger forms. Everywhere, appearances deceive, identities dissolve, and the ordinary reveals an unexpected divinity.
Our gods are small because the sacred is everywhere: in nature, in bodies, in objects, and in the air we breathe.
