As Ode to the Moon: If the Body is a Tide, Art is Emergence draws to a close, join us for one final afternoon of art, conversation, and quiet wonder.
Carl Sagan wrote that “we are made of star-stuff.” The calcium in our bones, the iron in our blood, and the carbon in every cell were forged in ancient stars and have journeyed across the universe for billions of years before becoming us. In the Daoist spirit of **ziran** (自然)—that which comes forth of itself—the exhibition invites us to see the body not as separate from nature, but as one of its countless expressions: landscapes before identities, tides before names, minerals before memory.
Dancer Catherine Cruise will present an improvised movement intervention, activating the exhibition through the living body. Moving in dialogue with paintings, sculpture, architecture, light, and those gathered, her gestures emerge through listening rather than choreography. The performance becomes another material within the exhibition, awakening the landscapes, waters, dust, and minerals that quietly reside within us all.
