Join the Highland Park Repair Fair for a free mutual aid repair event as part of the National Museum of the Aftermath’s Open Call series. Bring your broken household items to be fixed, and/or volunteer to give other’s items new life!
Highland Park Repair Fair is a volunteer-run event established in 2025 to offer free repair services and support the circular economy with mutual aid. By bringing community members together to repair and restore items, their usable lifecycle is extended and landfill waste is reduced. Co-founders Cynthia Dickson and Erica Johnson plan to bring the repair fair to all areas of Highland Park by partnering with local businesses and venues, providing free access to repair services and, eventually, offering workshops for participants to learn repair skills and become part of the circular economy.
They are excited to be able to engage and empower the Highland Park community with these services and the new ability to repair and restore things, diverting them from the trash.
