MIDSUMMER
Midsummer ripples out from the summer solstice when the days are the longest and the sunlight lingers. Art and light belong together. Both are illuminating, and blissfully alter the way we see things, bejeweling even dark hours. The three artists shining brilliantly in our midsummer exhibition bring you the glistening eternity of ocean waves, the buzzing and vivid delight of a blooming garden, the motion-filled magic of the morning sky.

Linda Sue Price
Whether merging neon with video and audio or creating intensely alive Zen moments that shimmer with color and luminosity, neon artist Linda Sue Price explores the rich texture beneath the surface of light and life itself. Her new series It’s Always Something is an exceptional, compelling look at the brilliance of light, captured in the heart of summer and the soul of every season.

Susan Ossman
Light, lines, color, context: these are the tools that international artist Susan Ossman uses to shape her hypnotic, undulating paintings which carry the breath of light, change, and motion. Both an artist and anthropologist, Ossman’s images and ideas emerge as shadows, patterns, currents, and dreams, cast in radiant colors and filled with heat, hope, and wonder.

Michael Stearns
Galvanizing is one way to describe the layered luster of Michael Stearns’ art. Filled with a glowing joy, Stearns’ work explores questions of existence, origin, and the metaphysical and aesthetic forces that animate being with a sense of wonder and heightened chromatic intensity.

The summer night glowed; in the field, fireflies were glinting.
And for those who understood such things, the stars were sending messages…
