bG Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition by contemporary painter and sculptor Ellieus, opening Sunday, May 10 from 12–4 PM. The exhibition will be on view May 10 through May 23 at bG Gallery, located at Bergamot Station Arts Center in Santa Monica.

A special gallery walkthrough with the artist will take place Friday, May 16 from 3–6 PM as part of Bergamot Station’s Spring Open, a campus-wide event running from 12–9 PM.

Ellieus, a California-based contemporary painter and sculptor, explores themes of transformation, emotional fragmentation, and the inner architecture of identity through a distinctive visual language of layered abstraction and expressive mark-making. Her work navigates the tension between chaos and calm, structure and dissolution, revealing deeply personal yet universally resonant emotional landscapes.

Her artistic foundation includes studies in graphic design and oil painting at Tehran University, along with additional training in illustration and sculpture. She has presented work in both solo and group exhibitions, including The Woman Who Creates a World (2024) and Therapy (2023), as well as institutional presentations such as Discover a New Wild West: New Frontiers at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West Museum in Wyoming.

Working from her studio in Woodland Hills, California, Ellieus continues to develop emotionally driven bodies of work across painting and sculpture. Her process moves between control and surrender, layering, disrupting, and reconstructing materials to mirror the complexity of psychological and emotional experience.

The works presented in this exhibition invite viewers into a contemplative space—one that encourages reflection, feeling, and a deeper engagement with the self. Rather than offering fixed interpretations, the paintings open a dialogue between viewer and image, where meaning emerges through personal connection.
