a poco art presents A Leaf, A World: Soundbath, Reiki, Art & Tea, a one-day retreat-like program unfolding within a monochromatic art exhibition environment. Combining sound meditation, ceremonial tea, and Reiki healing, the event invites participants to reflect on interdependence, perception, and the subtle relationships between body, matter, and time.
The program takes inspiration from the Huayan teaching in the Flower Adornment Sutra:
一花一世界,一葉一如來
In a single flower exists an entire world; in a single leaf, a Buddha.
Within this cosmology, each small form contains the total universe. A leaf, a seed, or a cup of tea becomes a site through which vast networks of cause and condition reveal themselves.
Set within the exhibition environment of a poco art archive, the gathering unfolds among monochromatic artworks and natural forms—leaves, seeds, rocks, bodies, and mountains—creating a contemplative setting where art and ritual intersect. Participants are invited to slow down and observe how vibration, material presence, and sensory experience connect within a shared field.
Each session begins with a sound bath using crystal singing bowls, allowing vibration to move through the body and settle the mind. The sound meditation is accompanied by the quiet acoustics of tea preparation: water heating, whisking, and the subtle emergence of aroma.
Following the sound bath, tea is whisked and served ceremonially, and participants are invited to drink slowly in contemplation. The act of drinking becomes a meditation on 因果—the unfolding of causes and conditions that shape each moment. In a single cup of tea one may glimpse rainstorms, soil, seasons, mountains, and the passage of time.
Between sessions, Ibuki Kuramochi—Butoh dancer, multidisciplinary artist, and Reiki practitioner—will offer individual Reiki healing sessions, providing an opportunity for deeper restoration and energetic alignment within the day’s quiet rhythm.
Within this environment of monochromatic artworks, ritual gestures, and subtle sensory attention, sound, tea, and stillness create a temporary field in which bodies, artworks, and surrounding space resonate with one another. A cup of tea becomes a small universe: a moment where nature, human presence, and time briefly converge.
