TACTO: Dialogues of Separation and Union
TACTO: Dialogues of Separation and Union
Jun 14 - Nov 1
11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Durón Gallery at SPARC
685 Venice Boulevard, Venice CA 90291

This annual exhibition is more than an artistic collaboration—it is an act of resistance, care, and connection. By bridging these territories separated by a border, Dialogues of Separation and Union challenges physical and political divisions, proposing instead a shared cultural language rooted in solidarity.

Art has the power to heal, offering a space for expression, connection, and reflection. By linking the Durón Gallery at SPARC in Los Angeles and CEART Tecate in Baja California, this project not only builds community, but also provides a platform for voices that are often unheard. In doing so, it nurtures a social weave that promotes emotional well-being, resilience, and collective understanding through artistic exchange.

This time, ten Baja Californian artists are presenting their work in disciplines such as painting, video, photography, textile art, and performance, with explorations related to territory and identity. Their approaches reflect an intimate understanding of the borders that traverse them: political, ethnic, gender, and class.

This biennial exchange reclaims space for dialogue—not just through the final exhibition, but through the entire process of meeting, listening, and creating together. The true value of this project lies in the conversations it generates—across borders, disciplines, and lived experiences. It is a commitment to healing through dialogue, to building community through creative action, and to making art a bridge, not a boundary.
