Dorado 806 Projects is pleased to present ‘The Space Between’ Amanda Oleander’s debut Los Angeles Solo show curated by Meghan DeRoma and Amelie Laurice. The Space Between explores the moments of transition—the space between significant chapters or milestones in life. It delves into the subtle shifts of self-discovery, focusing on those quiet, often-overlooked spaces where transformation occurs.
From Amanda:
My work begins as a conversation between solitude and connection, where the figures I paint are part of a larger whole, intricately connected to everything in ways we can’t always see. It reflects both the uncertainty of life and the quiet hope that underpins it all. Even in the most expansive and uncharted territories, I strive to capture a sense of light and possibility, offering a glimpse of optimism amid the unknown.
Accompanying Amanda’s show will be a show curated by the artist entitled ‘In Good Company’, taking place in the gallery’s adjacent space, The Rabbit Hole. Amanda has selected a roster of artists that together offer fresh aesthetics and practices adjacent to her own.
In Good Company Featured Artists:
Shantell Martin
Brady Smith

About Amanda Oleander:
Amanda Oleander (b. 1989, Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is a Los Angeles-based artist whose work explores the complexities of human connection and the subtle beauty found in everyday life. She
earned her BFA in painting and illustration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has since developed a distinctive style that merges surrealism with emotional realism.
Working across drawing, painting, writing, sculpture, and print, Oleander’s latest series follows solitary figures—small in scale but full of purpose—as they journey through vast, foreboding
landscapes. Guided by personal experience, she allows color, scale, and composition to shape each piece, letting emotions unfold and find harmony on the canvas. Her work captures the delicate balance between solitude and connection, uncertainty and possibility, revealing the
invisible threads that unite everything. Even in the most expansive, uncharted territories, her paintings offer a quiet beacon of hope—reminding us that the journey forward is always worth
Taking, and that, ultimately, everything is connected.
