Rusha & Co. is proud to be hosting SABI ART: There’s Love At Home, the inaugural group exhibition of a series, curated by the African Video Club. The series title, SABI ART, is inspired by a Lagos slang term; ‘Sabi’ is derived from Pidgin English and means ‘to know’ or ‘to be knowledgeable about something.’ Its used as an indicatation that someone is skilled, experienced, and has a good understanding of a particular subject or activity. Featuring artists from across the African Diaspora, this exhibition will highlight the works of 11 talented artists, each offering a distinctive view on what home means to them. Where is home? Is it a physical place, a person, or a sense of self? This question can spark countless answers and even more questions, especially when considering the complex connections to the continent of Africa.
