In this collection of works, the artist presents a visual journey across landscapes of the mind, of surfaces and monumental formations.
Rock Formations and Scholar stones are imbued with a type of magic, perhaps ancestral, perhaps poetic, some stand together like a family broken apart yet strong and unified by geomorphology, some stand alone like monolithic pillars shaped by color and time.
The oil paintings on linen, are plein air works, painted upon the desert floor, challenged by the natural editing process of time.
The ceramic Formations have undergone a process similar to the Rocks themselves being subjected to heat and fusion, vitrifying the minerals that make up their surface. The Dreamscapes, based on Scholar stones, and journeys of the mind, reflect a natural freedom and limitlessness, contemplative of life above the clouds, yet grounded in the precepts of sculptural form.
