Enter the magical world of Tamborine Mountain …
Where a cast of characters take you to far off lands, and the Storybook world created by Julie Luiz Murphy.
Experience Julie’s unique feminine style and eye for detail, as she transports you to far off places with her storybook Art, often described as a beautiful blend of a French – Bohemian spirit.
Intrinsically weaving a story around her compelling art “Heavenly creatures” rule their kingdoms with love and compassion for all, enticing the viewer to step into their magical world.
When asked what compels her art,
Julie replies “My Heroines, they are always the star of the show” they draw me into their world of mystery and intrigue, to a place I long to stay.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Julie works in acrylics, gouache, chalk pastels, inks and charcoal pencil and incorporates line work with her amazing ability to free brush. She layers her work with detailed synchronicity and her choice of color varies from deep intense tropical hues, to romantic watercolor palettes, depending on the mood.
Perhaps it’s because I paint in an old converted church overlooking palm trees and endless views of the sea, that my Story Art is always romantic and soulful. I thrive on the beauty of my homeland, the lush tropical life of Queensland Australia and art is merely an expression of what I see and feel in a storybook setting.
Once I lived in San Miguel De Allende, Mexico and the beauty of color of that city still to this day pervades my art with Mexican people and adobes coming from the ethers to make their presence known.
