Join us for an afternoon of science and art!
First, the MMCC Education Team will tell us about how and why the MMCC takes in pinnipeds in need. Artist-Teacher Anna Erneholm will then lead us in a pinniped diorama workshop where we will be building an underwater oasis for our pinniped friends at the Marine Mammal Care Center!
The 3D diorama base will be constructed out of paper, glue, and your imagination! After drawing and coloring your pinniped friends, we will cut them out and suspend them in the “water” with recycled fishing line. Maybe you want to fill in your diorama with the other plants and animals that live in their ecosystem? We can not wait to see what you come up with!
All supplies will be provided and everyone is welcome.
ArtLab takes place in-person at the Marine Mammal Care Center. Masks preferred, not required. All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The event will begin promptly at 1pm. Please be sure to be at the Marine Mammal Care Center by that time.
