Simard Bilodeau Contemporary is pleased to present Walking in My Own Steps, Michael Nauert’s first solo exhibition. The exhibition traces the process that led him to shape his work as it is today. Through his paintings, we follow his creative experiments from 2015 to 2023. The artist slips in and out of the familiar through abstract mark making, drawing parallels between nature and human nature within his work. Shaping coalesce into landscape and figure, eventually dissipating into abstract impressions. This limbo state creates a vortex for multiple forms, ideas, and shared memory.
