A beautifully curated, springtime market comes to the Pasadena Convention Center, May 20-21. Artazan features over 200 exhibits, artist demonstrations, fine foods and live music. The market is inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement, and is a grand celebration of today’s artists and artisans, bringing focus to handcraft in all forms.
The exhibits offer a range of art, jewelry, woodwork, ceramics, clothing, and artisan foods, as well as a selection of fine antiquities. Browsing the market, you’ll find products made with meticulous detail, natural materials, and brilliant colors. Everyday items that are both beautiful and useful, presented by the artists and artisans themselves.
The market is an interactive space that invites you to take part –watch artists demonstrate their work, get in the creative spirit and join in with a series of workshops such as plein air painting and mixed media, sample chocolates and specialty foods at the artisan food booths, and enjoy live music throughout the show.
The Arts & Crafts movement began in response to mass-production and looked to emphasize handmade artisanship. By 1908, Pasadena had become a showcase for the Arts & Crafts, and today there are still countless examples of how Pasadena embodies the power of the movement, making it the perfect location for this handcraft market.
Artazan’s objective is to present something new, and the best way to do that is to present something old. Celebrate the makers of our time with a nod to craftsmen of the past, and enjoy the vibrant showcasing of handcrafted wares, fine art, jewelry, ceramics, woodwork, antiquities, and artisan foods –it’s an art filled, handcraft market you don’t want to miss!
