This Summer, learn about the drought friendly energy and water saving system of Ollas – unglazed clay pots –to make your garden more sustainable. Educators from Garden School Foundation will lead this interactive workshop where participants of all ages will learn about Ollas and how ancient irrigation techniques can be used to slow-release water for your plants.
The Garden School Foundation provides garden-based education to children at eight Title 1 elementary schools across Los Angeles. They take a holistic approach to teaching, gardening, cooking and environmental sustainability through an in-depth Seed to Table and Cafeteria to Compost programs along with regular Community Garden Days and school- based free Farmers Markets.
This event is free; however, reservations are recommended: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/family-garden-workshop-self-watering-plants-ollas-for-all-tickets-599714250467.
