In Collaboration with Middle East Images Foundation
Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 5 – 9 pm
The “Woman, Life, Freedom” exhibition tour is more than just a collection of photographs; it is a journey through the heart of the Iranian revolution, a tribute to the unbreakable spirit of the Iranian people, and a celebration of the power of art and photojournalism to inspire change. The Middle East Images Foundation is thrilled to announce the upcoming “Woman, Life, Freedom” exhibition tour, featuring stunning and evocative photographs of the ongoing revolution in Iran and the role of women in the movement. The photos capture the intensity of the massive demonstrations in Iran’s streets, the bravery of women sharing stories of resistance, and the powerful moments of courage and resilience that define this movement.
Since the start of the movement in Iran in Sep. 2022, the Middle East Images Foundation has acted as a critical bridge for sharing the stories and perspectives of the Iranians with the world. Through its network of photographers and journalists, the Foundation has been able to document the protests and the experiences of the protestors and to share these images and stories with a global audience. Photos taken by Middle East Images photographers have been featured on the cover pages of L’obs Magazine, Le Point, the New York Times, Gara Newspaper, and The Economist and published in prominent news outlets such as Time, NY Times, Word Press, Guardian, AP, CNN, FOX news, and etc. These publications have reached a wide audience, both inside and outside of Iran, and have helped to bring attention to the struggles and demands of the protesters.
The exhibition showcases the remarkable work of our courageous and talented photojournalists who risked their lives to bring these powerful images to the world. They have captured the raw essence of the revolution, telling a story of hope, courage, and determination in the face of oppression. This exhibition is a testament to the strength and resilience of the Iranian people and their commitment to creating a better future for themselves and their country. It is a celebration of the human spirit that thrives even in the darkest of times, a reminder that even in the face of oppression, hope and the desire for change can still flourish.
The “Woman, Life, Freedom” exhibition tour is set to open at the Hamzianpour & Kia Gallery in Los Angeles on April 4th, 2023.
