Opening Reception, Meet the Artist Saturday, April 15, 5-9PM
LOS ANGELES, Calif., March 19 – One of California’s leading contemporary fine art photographers, Eric Renard, debuts his latest work, “Urbanity” at The Artists Gallery (TAG) beginning April 5 and running through April 28.
On Saturday, April 15, from 5-9PM, The Artists Gallery will hold an artist’s reception for the Los Angeles art community, and media to attend. Renard will be in attendance to discuss the distinct style that defines his work.
Renard’s exhibition, titled Urbanity, explores the modern world through black & white photography, though he is equally well-known for his distinctive color work reflecting classic California images. The artist’s unique exposure to both urban and rural life can be seen throughout his work, as he is equally at home in both settings.
“This black and white focuses on high contrast, urban cityscapes and rural landscapes and reflect an eerie feeling of peace and tranquility,” said Renard about the new work. “The landscape is the hero here, with the people in them subject to the power of their surroundings,” he said.
Renard’s photography has found its way into art galleries in London, Budapest, Texas, Oregon, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut and across California. His photography has received numerous Best of Show awards and has been published in both books and photography magazines, including the cover of Black & White magazine. He is also on the board of directors for several non-profit art organizations in Los Angeles, helping to organize and promote local art exhibitions.
Attendees of the new exhibition will be able view the show, meet other TAG artists, enjoy wine and refreshments, and discuss the state of contemporary art in Los Angeles, and around the world. The event is free & open to the community.
