Gabba Gallery invites you to an outstanding new solo show by Patrick Haemmerlein. Curated by Jason Ostro and Elena Jacobson, opening February 11.
Patrick Haemmerlein returns to Gabba with DEEP TIME, a collection of mixed media collages on panel. Each piece juxtaposes sheet music from a classic song with a photograph and other printed materials. Natural elements such as horses, birds, flowers, and trees appear in some, while others feature distant hints of humanity: an abandoned shopping cart, a lone sailboat, a tent in the woods, a quiet farm. Several memorable works feature a pile of old cars covered in graffiti with a lone coyote in the foreground. The show evokes a wonderful sense of nostalgia— peaceful with a touch of melancholy.
The opening night reception for the show takes place Saturday, February 11, 6-10pm. The event is free and open to the public; no RSVP necessary. Sponsored by Liquid Death and JuneShine. DJ Jonathan Williams spinning. Street parking only, rideshare encouraged.
Gabba Gallery is located at 3126 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles 90057.
The show will be on view through February 25. After opening night, gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday, noon to 3pm or by appointment.
