“Gorgeous Drag” is a fine art portfolio of work by Los Angeles-based photographer Elizabeth Waterman. It features images from a body of work Waterman shot in 2014-2016 when she was living and working in NYC. The photographs capture the City’s burgeoning drag scene, particularly in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn – home to the groundbreaking festival “Bushwig,” which had its 11th annual iteration this fall. It was a scene that skyrocketed the careers of Sasha Velour, Aquaria, Scarlet Envy, and many others. A special “Gorgeous Drag” livestream event to benefit InterPride will take place on Wednesday, December 14 from 3PM-4PM U.S. Pacific Time (11PM-Midnight GMT). A panel discussion will focus on Drag Culture and Chosen Family – legendary San Francisco Drag Queen Juanita MORE! is the special guest. A portion of proceeds from print and book sales during the event will be donated to InterPride, a non-profit organization that brings together Pride networks and individual Pride organizations around the world, contributing to the global coordination of Pride efforts.
