The Beverly Hills Art Show presents a collection of signature works by an award-winning American fine art photographer Alex Sher from October 15-16, 2022 at historic Beverly Gardens Park (Booth #131).

Following a 49-year tradition as one of the most popular art events on the West Coast, for two days four blocks of Beverly Gardens Park will brim with 225 artists from throughout California, the Southwest and the rest of the United States.

Alex Sher is an award-winning American fine art photographer internationally recognized for his original depictions of the aqueous depths and admiration of feminine sensuality. The stunning selection of Sher’s works at the Art Show will combine remarkable underwater figurative photographs already known among art lovers along with works from his latest artistic innovation ‘REFLECTIONS’, which weaves together the figurative and the abstract. Together, there will be about 30 pieces by Sher printed on aluminum in different sizes and approximately 100 prints on paper.

Among Sher’s well-known and recognizable photographs the guests will find: ‘Steps’ – a signature work that has stunned audiences and been in high demand among collectors and aesthetes; the captivating “Dancing Flowers” that was one of the central pieces of the LA Art Show in 2021 and 2022 and was presented in the official catalog of the art fair; black and white work “Rounds” with a famous model and influencer Justin Jedlica, known as the “Human Ken Doll”; and other photographs from the “Ballroom,” “Blue Room,” “Black Room” series.
The pieces from Sher’s newest ‘REFLECTIONS’ will attract viewers with aesthetic, eye-catching, and charming combinations of figurative and abstract art and will appeal to the tastes of admirers of both art movements.

‘REFLECTIONS’ are underwater photographs that could almost be mistaken for abstract paintings, bringing forth recollections of masterpieces by Picasso, Dali, or Gustav Klimt. In reality, ‘REFLECTIONS’ are straight photographic captures of the water’s surface from below with a submerged underwater camera. The photographs freeze natural momentary reflections on the water’s surface – unique kaleidoscopic fragmentations of a human body in nearly unrecognizable forms. “Anesthesia” reminds Van Gogh’s “The Starry Night”; “Surprise” brings to mind the surrealist dreams of Salvador Dalí; “Private Pool” recalls Gustav Klimt’s recognizable style.

To date, Sher’s work has been exhibited in London, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and other major cities and institutions including the Louvre Museum in Paris. His first solo show was held in 2016 at Bruce Lurie Gallery in Los Angeles. Since his debut, he has had six solo shows, has been included in numerous group exhibitions and has participated in prominent art fairs. In 2018, his first photo book “Mermaids” was published.

Art Market Magazine wrote about Sher in July 2022: “Sher’s advancement of his own style while actively progressing the medium proves his mastery of the techniques and the embodiment of a one-of-a-kind artistic vision. The result, striking images that display the human form in beautifully unexpected ways.”
