Join 7×7.LA and Beyond Baroque for the opening of 7×7.LA: Artists & Writer collaborations, a new exhibit in Beyond Baroque’s Mike Kelley Gallery. The opening features a reception, and an in-person evening of readings held in tandem with the show. Authors Wendy C. Ortiz, Deirdre Danklin, and Lisa Teasley will present their collaborative works published in the 7×7 online magazine. Each collaboration invites one visual artist and one writer to engage in a two-week creative conversation. The format, inspired by Surrealist games of the early 20th century, challenges participants to improvise, in their respective disciplines, a spontaneous story that pushes into ever-wilder imaginative terrain. Every finished 7×7 is singular, unclassifiable, and wholly original. Curated by Axel Wilhite, Co-founder of 7×7.LA.
After more than two years of having to close our doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to welcome back guests at our historic location in Venice, California, with a free exhibition and literary readings open to the public!

Free & in-person at Beyond Baroque. All attendees must show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination and an ID. Masks are required.
