As an artist and feminist, the reclaiming of needle and thread fascinates Ellen. Her work comes from a need to celebrate female pleasure and female bodies. Using images that are often considered pornographic, she recontextualizes them by focusing on and highlighting women as beings that feel and think, rather than objects that arouse.
This exhibit will focus on Schinderman’s activities during lockdown in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ellen’s work has been featured in publications such as Hustler, Juxtapoz, Beautiful Decay, and LA Weekly. She lives and works in Hollywood, CA.
