The Why? Since December 3, 2012, when Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey took office, there have been 622 lives ended by the hands of LAPD and LASD, and zero prosecutions. Say Their Names LA aims to serve as both a display of remembrance and awareness for the number of lives lost during this critical period before the upcoming November election. Say Their Names LA will resemble a graveyard comprised of the 622 victims’ tombstones.
Details. We will meet at 2 pm in the Art’s District at COLYTON ST and E 5th ST to reveal the installation and listen to speakers. At 3:30 pm, we will march and perform a die-in.
Families of the victims: Please specify who your loved one is so that we can make sure you are the person holding their stone.
Dress Code: Families please wear white. Everyone else please wear black.
