Urban Chemistry is an exhibition of select works from The Johannesburg Development Agency’s Art My Jozi Project. The Project is comprised of artworks by a group of emerging Johannesburg-based artists using photography, film, and other artistic media to explore creative placemaking through community participation and co-production. The works on view explore the tension between rights of access and the seemingly no-go areas in the city, urban artistic forms, creative micro economies and the power of the performative to activate space and unearth history and memory.
