Coagula Curatorial is pleased to present edition four of its “New Curator Series” taking place through Spring 2018
NEVER HAVE I EVER is a provocative, figurative show that examines themes of identity and youth; from burgeoning sexuality and decisions on the cusp of being made, to those that have already inextricably come to define us. This exhibit is curated by Rachel Gibas
It brings together eleven Southern California artists whose work is created from found objects, fibers, mixed-media as well as traditional fine art materials. Through painting, sculpture and collage they reveal and transform layered ideas of image and the body, fantasy and character, anxiety and intimacy. Collectively, the works play with what it means to occupy one’s own space in the world, and how one defines it.
